Ok, so I'm taking this opportunity to simply vent. Today was a day. I was at home this afternoon working on some homework. I was sitting at my computer, when my husband came into our house proclaiming "I've just been robbed!" My first reaction was that he was mugged at 711, but he told me that wasn't the case. My husband, Tim, is one of the sweetest, kind hearted people in the world. We almost live in the ghetto, and there are a lot of homeless people around where we live. Lately, he has been convicted to help out some of these people. So, today, he was out buying some parts for our car. While he was at the car place, he ran into a guy that needed to go pick up a tire. Tim let him borrow a few dollars to buy the tire, and then he gave him a ride to pick up the tire at a house. While on the way to the house, Tim let this guy borrow his phone. Tim took the guy to the house and, about five minutes after the guy got out of the car, Tim realized that he had run off with Tim's phone. So, with frustration, Tim drove home, bounded into our house, and called his cell phone multiple times.
The guy, after about ten phone calls, picked up the phone. He didn't say anything, but he did pick up the phone. So, me, not as nice as my husband, started to exclaim to the jerk that he needed to say something to me. Tim took the phone from me and told the guy that he just wanted his phone back and didn't care about anything else. The guy never said a word. After that, Tim called our cell phone carrier. He asked if he could get the phone numbers that were called from his phone. They told us he had to have a subpoena before they could give him that information. What the crap?!
So, we've decided to simply give in. We canceled the phone number on the phone that was stolen, filed a police report, and are possibly switching cell companies. So now, we are stuck sharing a cell phone until this whole thing gets worked out. Let me tell you how excited I am about that.
So, what's the moral to my story? ...if you let someone borrow your phone, make sure they give it back!
Well, my fellow classmates, thanks for listening.

bummer, I'm sorry you guys had to go through this crap. At first I was going to say, "yep, Human Nature...people are mostly bad and out for themselves." But then there's your husband who was kind enough to give this guy $$$ and a ride AND use the phone. Why does this crap always happen to people who show the kindness your husband did?
simply put, doesn't life seem sucky sometimes?
Man, that makes me so mad. There are so many ****s out there, so it's better not to pay attention to them. I truly believe that there are people who don't deserve the fresh air on the earth. It reminds me of a movie, but I can't recall the title....I'll let you know if I do. Anyway, you don't have to worry about it. That guy will get the payback someday in about a hundred times worse way. I hope your husband is more cautious, though. That **** could've robbed your husband at a gunpoint!
I'm so sorry that your husband was taken advantage of. Aside, from pulling over to change some poor lady's flat, we never give money out or loan anything to a strange person. Your husband is lucky that guy didn't grab his wallet when he took a few bucks out for him (or worse hurt or kill your husband over a few bucks.) Sad world. Also, someone told me that they had a friend that stopped for a "helpless lady with a flat tire". She had a nice big, bad accomplice hiding beside her car ready to pounce!
